Mission and Vision

Our mission is to certify medical representatives who demonstrate proficiency in the professional competencies and ethical standards set forth by the Certification Commission.

Our vision is to improve patient outcomes by certifying the professional competency of medical representatives and to increase the value of those certified professionals to providers.

Meeting the Mission

MRCC is governed by an independent, volunteer board of Commissioners comprised of national healthcare leaders. The MRCC accepts no funding from the biopharmaceutical, medical device or diagnostic industries. Leaders from the biopharmaceutical and broader healthcare industries requested an effort to determine how to help medical representatives be of more value and provide more effective service to the healthcare continuum.

Throughout 2007 and 2008, the MRCC founders facilitated stakeholder meetings, focus groups and other research which eventually led to the establishment of an independent, highly credible national commission of healthcare leaders. These leaders carry out the mission of MRCC. There are no restrictions or authority by any body over the Commission that in any way influence the establishment and maintenance of the national standards or certification. MRCC is independent in its governance and decision-making. We will continue to meet and service our mission through providing superior service and ongoing research of standards and certification excellence, funded by certification/examination fees.
